Course A : Further Education, Multi-faith Chaplaincy and Me
This first course is intended as an overview to Further Education, should you not be familiar with the sector, and as an introduction to Multi-faith Chaplaincy. It continues with an exploration of what you may expect working as a college chaplain, together with a look as some of the personal qualities needed in this type of ministry. The primary aim of the course is to inform and encourage you as you consider the vocation to chaplaincy work in this vibrant and exciting educational setting.
Course B : The Chaplain
This second course provides examples of the ‘hands-on’ work of FE chaplains, with comment and reflection from serving chaplains. Topics include: Celebration (e.g. Diwali celebration, Carol services, Inter-faith Week, Ascension Day etc); Commemoration (e.g.Holocaust Memorial Day, Deceased Lerner Memorial Service); Education & Pastoral Care (e.g.tutorials, student visits, one-to-one conversations, Prayer /Quiet Rooms) and Links with the wider faith community/ organisations.

Course D : See For Yourself
This is the placement component of your training, during which you are expected to spend between 30 to 60 hours at a college following a programme of activities arranged by the placement supervisor – usually a member of the college chaplaincy team.
